Made In Dagenham (2010)

In 1968 there were 55,000 men working at the Ford Motor Company factory in Dagenham, England.  There were also 187 women.  This is the “dramatization” of their incredible fight for equal pay.

While the essential elements are true, this is not a history lesson.  It’s pure entertainment, both dramatic and comical.  Whether you care about their struggle or not, you’ll care about the characters in the extremely well made film with an extraordinary performance from its star, Sally Hawkins.

I’m a “visual” person, and I’ve always said I can learn anything if you present it to me in the form of a good movie.  Here’s a case in point.

Highly recommended.  7/9
