THE MOVIE ANARCHIST

Chris Briant directs and stars in this rather intense horror/thriller.  As the only film he’s ever acted in or directed, it’s quite an accomplishment.  He scores highly in the “keep the viewers on the edge of their seats” category.  But….. it’s an incomplete story.

The problem is that it never answers the question:  Why?   The suspense is palpable, but you have no idea why anything is happening because the movie provides virtually no information about the characters or their motives.  So, while you might be sitting on the edge of your seat you’re also wondering what the fuck is going on.  It’s almost like watching just the second half of a movie.

Bottom line:  The good outweighs the bad to the extent that I recommend it.
